A category of bands devoid of any substance or depth that cling to very standard, bland songwriting techniques, and write songs with decent enough hooks to get them enough recognition to keep going for years and years. I'm sure every metal fan, whether they went through the metalcore phase or not, was or is a fan of Bullet For My Valentine to some degree. I mean, "Tears Don't Fall" was one of the biggest metal anthems of the 2000s, and albums like The Poison, Scream Aim Fire and Fever are now modern metal classics. This band was a huge part of the soundtrack The band's detractors will probably complain that the template remains firmly in place, and the band is aimlessly trekking through well-trodden terrain, but by returning to their roots, Bullet for My Valentine seem to have reignited the spark that made their early work so vital. Paralyzed. Half Alive. 8.5 Excellent. The self-titled full length from Bullet From My Valentine is their best release to date. 7 studio albums is incomprehensible for most people, but for BFMV, it’s a way to set the bar higher each time. May 03, 2010 07:17 am May 03, 2010 07:17 am Bullet for my Valentine has lost their original sound. Saying "The Poison" is a 10 for Bullet, "Scream Aim Fire" is a 9 and "Fever" only deserves a 6 I always had mixed feelings with the albums of Bullet for My Valentine, the first two I liked immensely and after that they've released hits and misses in my opinion. This album however checked all the boxes of things I liked from their previous work: aggressive vocals with the distinct melodic parts from singer Matt Tuck, lots of uptempo bits Bullet For My Valentine have, over the past few years, really made their style one which is undeniably fun and mostly enjoyable. However, the path has clearly been blazed with Fever that the likable qualities of Bullet For My Valentine's sound are slowly starting to diminish. One-dimensional clean vocals reign supreme and really wallow in the Vay Nhanh Fast Money.
